Daily Devotional October 25, 2026: Worship in Spirit and in Truth

Today’s Scripture: John 4:23-24

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

Worship Is More Than a Service

Jesus spoke these words to a Samaritan woman beside a well, someone many would have ignored. She wanted to debate where to worship. Jesus pointed to how: with the whole heart, and honestly.

What the Passage Teaches

God Is Seeking Worshippers

“The Father seeketh such to worship him.” Worship is not us chasing a distant God. He is looking for people who will come to Him sincerely.

Worship in Spirit

Because “God is a Spirit,” worship is not limited to a place, a building or a style of music. It comes from the inner person, through the Holy Spirit.

Worship in Truth

Truth means honesty before God and alignment with what He has revealed in His Word. We do not need to put on a show. We can come as we are and be real.

Reflection Questions

• Do I come to worship carrying real feelings, or a polished version of myself?
• Is my worship limited to Sunday, or does it shape my week?
• What truth about God do I most need to remember today?

Today’s Action Step

Before church or your online service, tell God honestly how you are feeling. Then read John 4:23-24 aloud and ask Him to meet you in worship.

Closing Prayer

Father, thank You for seeking me. Teach me to worship You honestly, with my whole heart. Meet me today, and let my worship continue all week. Amen.
